Despite all known dangers of plastic pollution, it’s prevailing and prevalent in India. Plastic bags are one of the worst and most unnecessary plastic polluters of the earth. Plastic bags are used on a large scale by retailers for a simple reason that they are much cheaper than paper, cloth or other eco-friendly bags. Also, these are available in huge quantities in the market. There exists a system to automate the procedure of recycled paper bags production so as to make its production cost compared to plastic bags and also increase its production rate so as to satisfy the ever-increasing demand of the bags.
Automation of paper bag production is totally feasible and anyone who thinks to start with this business can do so at ease. It requires less manpower than the traditional method of manufacturing paper bags. It doesn’t even require a specific paper style which means any kind of paper quality can be used for production whether it is virgin or recycled. Also, the size of the paper bag can be produced by adjusting the roller length and the rate of production can be increased by using such an automated process. It has also been observed that the future scope of such business or manufacturing seems skewed towards the growth side. It basically aims at fabrication and development of compact, low-cost paper bag making a machine for the mass production of carrying bags from drawing sheets or used paper. The machine will be able to produce paper bags made of recycled or reused papers. The paper bag produced will be an alternative to a particular category of polythene bags usually used. The machine is designed considering all the criteria of its realistic paper bag production.
Plastic bags that harm our environment, aquatic life and human health and moreover are not degradable have a paper bag as an alternative. Drawing sheets which are waste from educational institutions will be used as a raw material for manufacturing paper bag of our design. A manufacturing setup for producing our designed paper bag is fabricated. This fabricated setup used drawing sheets as raw material due to which its raw material cost got reduced. Paper bags are made from a renewable resource and can be remade into new paper. In fact, it consumes less energy for paper bags to be recycled than it does for plastic. Paper bags also pose less of a threat to the environment and wildlife.
